NWA Prime Time Pro Wrestling results from January 2 in Columbus with attendance of 200.
(1) Killer Instinct (Mike Stratus & Jake Slater) beat Chip Day & Kyle Matthews to advance in the tag team title tournament. KI’s new manager did some unintelligible mic work before the match. Matthews was pinned with a 3-D type maneuver after distraction by said manager.
(2) Ace Rockwell & Truitt Fields beat David Young & Chris Stevens to advance in the tag team title tournament when Fields pinned Young (16 minutes). Babyface vs. babyface. Young and Stevens sold their asses off for Fields. Johnny Swinger & Zero Tolerance interfered to cost Young & Stevens the match. Young vowed revenge on Swinger & Tolerance.
(3) Shaun Tempers beat Josh Stone (with Colt Derringer) in 11 minutes. Derringer was scheduled to wrestle, but said Tempers was not in his league and therefore, his trainee Josh Stone would wrestle instead. Finish saw Derringer try to interfere with a leg drop that hit Stone when Tempers rolled out of the way. Derringer belittled Stone after the match.
(4) Bull Buchanan & Bulldog Raines & Micah Taylor beat Johnny Swinger & Zero Tolerance & Iceberg in 23 minutes. Good match. Swinger had problems with Iceberg before the bell rang. “GCW ref” Jeremy Black was back again. Exotic Ones (Simon Sermon & Rick Michaels & Thomas Britain) came out to watch. Swinger & Tolerance left Iceberg high and dry. Taylor got the pin on Iceberg. Exotic Ones jumped Buchanan after the match.
(5) Enigma & Little Kane were declared as co-winners. Kane looked like Chucky from “Child’s Play.” Pretty weak match. They battled each other until The Exotic Ones got involved for some midget abuse. Referees Steve Miller and Rob Russo helped out the little guys. Enigma and Kane put butt bites on Sermon and Michaels. The refs then gave Britain a double clothesline. Russo declared both Enigma & Little Kane as winners.
(6) Deathrow & Marty Jannetty beat Travis Sawyer (with Tony Lucassio) & Colt Derringer. Lucassio recruited Derringer to replace the no-showing Mr. Hughes as Sawyer's partner. Jannetty was still showing signs of his leg injury. Derringer was the best wrestler in the match. Deathrow choke slammed Lucassio. Sawyer and Lucassio ran off and Derringer was pinned.
Postmatch, Promoter Billy Roper asked Jannetty to take care of the problem Prime Time has been having with Sonny Siaki. Jannetty said hell yeah. The match was made for next week.
Thanks to Matt Tew.
