Well I guess Jericho has been successful in creating, without intending to, enough heat to guarantee a success return to Victoria, British Columbia in the future. My guess is that the fans will hate him there now.

Although I don't condone a man ever hitting a woman, based on the reports I am hearing and what I saw on video, Jericho probably was not in much of a position to have avoided it, as she clearly reached into the vehicle in some way as he was trying to retreat from a volatile situation, which was obviously created by a handful of fans. Due to the chaos that was elevating, he had very little time to discern as to whom was approaching him. I could not tell if she hit or grabbed him, but she did clearly reach into the vehicle, and as a reflec, he turned and defended himself.
These fans were, for whatever reason, out of control, and he seems to have done his best to avoid it until it simply became unavoidable. Once the situation escalated to the level it did, he had every right in the world to defend himself. There were dozens of fans swarming him, and I imagine that is a very scary situation to be in, and he had every right as well to rip on security for not being better prepared to handle and diffuse the situation.
The first thing the security personnel should have done is make it to where he can get in his vehicle and escape before it became any worse, and they did not do this. If he was needed later by the local law enforcement authorities, I have no doubt he would have done as requested to give his side of the story. However, security just standing there and trying to hold people back was clearly not enough, as it only progressed to an uglier situation after they showed up to the scene.
I don't blame Jericho at all for anything he did, unless someone brings something forth that he incited the situation. Under the same circumstances, I would have probably feld the scene when I saw people heading my way, but not being there or seeing how it led to the actual swarming of the vehicle, that is easy for me to assume that could have been done. Still, once it got to the point he could not escape without perhaps injuring someone by trying to drive off, he seemed to try and avoid going on the offense physically until he was pushed too far and sensed he was in danger.

Actually, based on all the responses I've seen on the local Victoria web site that reported the incident, all of the commentors are upset at the two morons that caused this issue and are afraid WWE won't come back because of it.
Some witness reports are coming in stating that the two guys were huge John Cena marks and were just as obnoxious during the show. One report stated the male, named Kalen Johl, actually got in Santino Marella's face during the Beth Phoenix/Kelly Kelly match and started challenging him to a fight.
Apparently, Jericho got accosted by some honest-to-goodness true believers. Good thing they weren't carrying switchblades like back in the good ol' days.
