I just moved from Oklahoma to Indiana and got satellite TV. The other night I came across an AWAY show from 1988, Las Vegas, I think. It was a tag match between Shawnichaels and someone and the Midnight Express. I hadn't seen Randy Rose since I gave him a fast count as a referee in La Grange, GA back in 1975! Then saw Sgt. Slaughter, Manny Fernandez Wahoo McDniel, an others. Still not as good as some old Georgia tapes, however. I'm still looking for tapes of Sputnik Monroe. By the way, where is everyone? Not much nostalgic dialogue going on.

I have caught a few of the AWA shows on ESPN Classic, and they had some pretty good matches. Not as good as the old Georgia wrestling, but it is good to see Nick Bockwinkle, who I saw a number of times in the late 60s-early 70s when he was in Georgia, Jimmy Snuka, Jerry Blackwell and all. A couple of weeks ago they had Marty Janetty and Shawn Michaels against Buddy Rose and Doug Sommers, with Sheri Martel. Great seeing them from the mid 80s. The last time I caught it they had Kerry Von Ehric with the WCCW title against Jerry Lawler with the AWA title, with both belts up. Wild finish. It was in Tennessee, and Kerry was DQed for piledriving Lawler, who then claimed both belts. Apparently , the piledriver is illegal in Tennessee and you could lose the title on a DQ. I had to go before the very end, but I suspect a rematch was arranged.
