This show will NOT be televised! The ONLY way to see Bryan Danielson's debut in RPW is to join us LIVE on Saturday night, July 31!
Four-Corners Elimination Match
Bryan Danielson vs. J-Rod vs. Kyle Matthews vs. Jimmy Rave
The biggest news to hit RPW in the last few months was the revelation that the American Dragon himself, Bryan Danielson, would be making his debut with RPW at the 2010 Sizzling Summer Bash. Danielson has become one of the biggest stories in the world of professional wrestling in 2010. Since making a name for himself as Daniel Bryan in WWE's NXT project, Bryan has been a hot topic through his fantastic performances in WWE and his controversial firing in June. Ever since the announcement that he would be appearing for RPW, everybody scrambled to figure out what his role would be. Commissioner Sal Rinauro made the announcement on July 17 that Danielson would be facing Jimmy Rave, J-Rod, and Kyle Matthews in a four-corners elimination match!
But there is more going on in this match than Danielson's involvement. Many feel that despite surviving with the title in two battles with J-Rod, Rave has not proven he can defeat J-Rod without controversy. In the match to crown the first champion on July 3, Rave pinned J-Rod, but the referee missed seeing J-Rod's foot under the bottom rope. J-Rod was awarded a rematch on July 17 but ended in a time-limit draw. Another interesting angle to watch in this match is what happens between Rave and Matthews. Rave has taken Matthews under his tutelage in the last few months to attempt to turn Matthews back in the right direction after a horrendous losing streak. The months of hard work paid off on July 17 when Matthews finally scored a victory, defeating Jeremy Vain. Who will walk out of this hotly-anticipated match with their hand held high?
RPW Heavyweight Championship
Sal Rinauro vs. Shaun Banks ©
Shaun Banks shocked the world on June 19 when he returned to RPW for the first time since 2009's Sizzling Summer Bash to end Bull Buchanan's 9-month stranglehold over the RPW Heavyweight Title. Since then though, Banks has been flippant when dealing with Commissioner Sal Rinauro. What started with harmless pranks turned violent on July 19. After Cru Jones' victory over Sugar Dunkerton, Hot Like Lava attempted to humiliate Dunkerton further. Rinauro came out to get them to end their antics. It seemed to be going well, until Banks struck Rinauro in the ring, much to everyone's shock. Later in the night, Banks was defending his title against Caleb Konley. As Hot Like Lava quickly figured out they may have underestimated Konley, Jones pulled Konley out of the ring and attacked him, getting Banks intentionally disqualified to save his title. It didn't stop there as Banks further defied Rinauro by grabbing referee Dustin Robinson and violently threw him out of the ring to the ground. As Hot Like Lava continued to brutalize Konley, Rinauro stormed the ring with Marvelous Michael Stevens to send them running. As Cru & Shaun regrouped outside, Rinauro revealed that Banks would be defending his title at the Sizzling Summer Bash against none other than himself!
RPW Tag Team Championship No Disqualification Triple Threat Match
The Jones Boys vs. The Exotic Ones vs. The Usual Suspects ©
These three teams have been at each others throats for the last few months. Despite the fact the Usual Suspects are the champions, the Exotic Ones have been the center of everyone's attention. It started when the Exotic Ones and Big Bank Barfield executed their brutal attack on RPW owner Dr. Johnny Gayton, severely injuring his neck and disgustingly breaking his fingers with a pair of pliers. This raised the ire of the Jones Boys, who are close friends of Dr. Gayton. The Exotic Ones also managed to anger the Usual Suspects when they crashed the RPW Television Title tournament match between Velvet Jones and Murder One, attacking both men. But with all this attention being levied toward the Exotic Ones, make no mistake. There is still no love lost between A.J. Steele and Mr. Jones, as those who remember their bloody cage match from Memorial Mayhem will recall. A regular triple threat match between both of these teams did nothing to settle the score, so Commissioner Sal Rinauro signed a rematch for the Sizzling Summer Bash. But this time, it's no disqualification!
The Return of Dr. Johnny Gayton
Ever since the devastating attack by the Exotic Ones and Big Bank Barfield, RPW owner Dr. Johnny Gayton has been out of the country to clear his head and rehab his injuries. Those injuries included a damaged neck and broken fingers. With almost two months on the shelf to process the horrific things that were done to him, Dr. Gayton has promised that he will return to RPW this Saturday night. With his trademark warning ringing clear in the heads of his attackers, what revenge will Dr. Gayton have in store for Big Bank Barfield on July 31?
Not only all of this, but a wide array of RPW's superstars will be in action on his historic night. Cru Jones, Mike Kross, Jeremy Vain, Adryan Hawkins, and much, much more!
