And what did they sell? I remember the bags of popcorn, and the watery Cokes! ;D Hotdogs? How did they cook 'em? Weren't there those little stapled brown bags of peanuts, too? Thanks... Paul Pressley

Reed Concessions had the contract at the auditorium. All the people that worked for him were Coca Cola employees moonlighting. Some of them were family members as well. The hot dogs were put in a bowl and they ran Hot Water over them. The buns were steamed so that gave them a great flavor, along with the sauerkraut they put on them. Cokes, peanuts, and they popped thier popcorn fresh. All of this added to the atmosphere of that great old building.

I always loved the hot dogs! Drove through Atlanta this last week, ate at the Varsity. Drove through our old neighborhood, Bobby. My street has gotten smaller and I couldn't believe the neighborhood by where Williams Bros Lumber used to be. Saw Charlie's Place, my first job. All is different.

You should call ahead and plan a visit next time, Danny.

I really cannot believe you came thru town and did not call. I would gladly have met you at the Varsity.

Butterbean himself is doing this show as a fundraiser for the local fired department. A friend of his, Anthony Sanners (who wrestles as One Man Kru) is heading up the show. I helped them line up some of the talent. I'm thinking about going to the show myself. It's less than two hours from where I live in Gadsden. Maybe I'll see you there!!
