I think that the hall of fame show on the USA network was a pile of Crap as you know the Bullet Bob Armstrong was not on it as well as the Butcher this is a Slap in the Face to the Ga Fans of wrestling so in the words of Ole Anderson Mr McMahon Go F$#@ your self you gave all the show to a Hollywood Idiot Drew Carry to Shawn Michaels and to the Road Warriors and just shots of the others to me that makes this years show a Pile of Crap

I sort of disagree with you. I missed the first 10 minutes or so and I was wondering they had then on during that time. They did show a very brief clip of Bob and Abby both giving what I think was an acceptance speech. Bob really looked different than the last time I saw him (which was probably 30 years ago LOL). The Abby clip started off with him in a suit holding his old weapon The Fork up in the air. Then it showed him talking in English! Heaven forbid! Abdullah The Butcher talking English!
I saw the "nominating" clips featuring them on YouTube and was really impressed with Armstrong's clip. I thought they were very honorable towards both Bob and Abby. Neither Bob or Abby were WWE stars so they didn't have to include them at all. I was impressed by McMahon letting them in.
I was always of the opinion while Bob was a big southern star outside Georgia he was not THE big star for very long. Not until the All South--NWA war at least. Staying NWA was probably the best decision he ever made. He was huge in Macon and Columbus before he got huge in Atlanta and IIRC, he was never that huge in Atlanta till he went down to Florida. But in Macon, Bob Armstrong was the man!
As I watched those clips on YouTube, there was one thing I missed seeing - - the way he'd lower the straps would he got mad and the "Armstrong walk" he did in the early days. Anybody else remember that?
Another thing I remember about Armstrong was he would use "country sayings" much like Jerry Lawler used to. One of them was "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." Another was "I might have been born at night but I wasn't born last night!"
One year I saw Armstrong go against Dory Funk Jr. in Macon. There were over 9,000 people there that night. Armstrong was huge in Macon like I said. Both Funk and Armstrong won a fall. It looked Bob had a chance. We knew he could do it. Then that dastardly Buddy Colt and Homer O'Dell came out and challenged the winner of the match or challenged Armstrong if he won because Colt had beaten him in the past. Then them suckers attacked Bob! They beat him up! Funk gave Bob extra time to recover but it was to no avail. Bob didn't win the title. It might have been a draw but I know Bob didn't win. That dirty Buddy Colt! He stole Bob's chance!
By the way, I loved Buddy Colt too. I generally like the heels better than the face but Armstrong was one I always did like. El Mongol and Tommy Rich were two others.
As for Abby, I wish it would shown him eating paper and eating Gordon Solie's tie a little more. He was one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. One time when I was in the stands, I started singing this tune "Abdullah, the black superman," a take-off on a tune about Muhammad Ali. I remember a bunch of fans turning around like they were gonna kill me for cheering for the bad guy.
Gosh it's good remembering. Remembering's all I do.

I have to agree with truthsower, for the most part. I, too; have many fond memories of Bob Armstrong. In fact, he's probably the main reason I became infatuated with the sport in the late 60's. My dad's Christmas present then, was to take me to Boutwell Auditorium, in Birmingham to witness Bob and Len Rossi take on Saul Weingeroff's Spoilers, with Saul locked in a cage with Ginger, the bear. That card was what hooked me!
It's sad that there's no national promotion of any substance left to honor guys like Bob and Abdullah, other than WWE; so I guess that we should just be glad that they at least got a nod. I, too; would have preferred to see the induction of these two over any of the others, but we all know that ratings sell commercials, and thats what Vince was looking at. And, yeah, Drew Carey was a little too much to tolerate, but at least he acknowledged his insignificance; and his inclusion in the "celebrity wing" was stressed. So, yeah; I guess that I'm at least a little appreciative of Vince including two southern rassler's into his hallowed "Hall". I suppose that both men knew what the ceremony would entail, and accepted the invitation fully aware of their limited participation; so good for them.
And speaking of early Bob Armstrong memories, I too; recall the mayhem that ensued when dropped his singlet strap, and went to town. Early in his career, especially; he added even more substance, though...after taking all that he could from an opponent, he'd drop the strap, then add a Curly Howard type "war dance", where he'd slap his hands repeatedly down his forehead, then start cleaning house. Good memories.
